MAD RIVER LOOP

If you're looking for a challenging road to test your riding skills, this is the road for you. The portion of this VT motorcycle road near Appalachian Gap boasts 53 turns in just 7 miles. Navigate these corners with caution and enjoy the views for an exhilarating ride. MOLLY STARK BYWAY

Route 9 (aka Molly Stark Byway) carves its way in the southern portion of the state. There's some great mountain scenery on this VT motorcycle ride as you navigate the elevation grade changes and wide curves, including an especially high scenic overlook near West Marlboro.

This shorter VT motorcycle route starts near Woodford State Park and corners through the southern tip of the Green Mountains. (Optionally continue over the Massachusetts state line and travel west on Route 2 for another short, terrific road into Williamstown, MA.)

For a fun ride through Smuggler's Notch State Park, take Route 108 from Jeffersonville, VT to Stowe, VT. It's a very cool ride through the Notch.
Portions of this VT motorcycle road is on the technical side, as you'll come across sections with steep inclines, sharp turns and switchback turns. The notch is a great section of road, and one that you would not want to miss. It can tend to get bogged down on the weekends with tourism, so early morning weekends or weekdays would be best to take on this road. There are many scenic lookouts of the amazing terrain and hiking opportunities through the midst of this summer ski country.

Local Vermonters love this road from Jeffersonville to St. Johnsbury. This portion of VT-15 is in very good shape as you ride the long, sweeping curves. The road carves around close to the Lamoille River for much of the route. You'll have views of Mount Mansfield, the Green Mountains as well as New Hampshire's White Mountains on the ride. There will also be ample views of the farms, cornfields and covered bridges that Vermont is known for. Motorcyclists will get plenty of opportunities to stop and take in the sights of the historic main streets of the local towns as you pass through.
